About the building

The intentions of this project is to demonstrate the real possibilities of a thermal renovation. The building has been renovated following the passivhaus construction standard and incorporates different technologies for the generation of its own energy and a control system that optimizes production, controls demand and manages its facilities. This building is a reference model of how to act in the renovation of buildings to achieve spaces of great comfort and very low energy demand. In its facilities, training programs related to construction and high efficiency facilities are developed and distributed, as well as the promotion and development of activities and events that promote the construction of EECN buildings, as a first step towards positive energy buildings. The building itself is a permanent exhibition, in which all the techniques, products and equipment used (Showorking) are installed and in real operation.
